EHS Manager

About the role

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager will lead the implementation, integration and continuous improvement of EHS platforms, systems and processes at the Nijmegen site, ensuring compliance with local, federal and Johnson & Johnson standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety legislation and J&J standards.
• Lead internal and external audits, inspections and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and achieve site objectives for EHS programs and manage the EHS scorecard.
• Act as Primary Incident Commander for site emergencies and support business continuity.
• Oversee hazardous waste management, recordkeeping and contracted occupational health services.

Required profile

• B.S. in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, or Industrial) – Master’s preferred.
• 3‑5 years leading EHS affairs in medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
• 5+ years of people management and budget responsibility.
• Fluent in English and Dutch with strong presentation skills.

Required skills

• ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.
• Project management and budget management experience.
• Hazardous waste management and regulatory compliance expertise.
• Incident command and emergency response coordination.
