Electrical Design Engineer – Battery Storage Systems

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to create detailed electrical designs for our advanced battery storage systems. The role is based in Utrecht and is part of the Solutions Engineering team, supporting project delivery from concept to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and installation plans using AutoCAD.
• Perform calculations for cable sizing, short‑circuit currents and voltage drops for both Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) installations.
• Prepare Bills of Materials and manage technical documentation, including revisions and drawing control.
• Verify designs against national and international standards (NEN 1010, IEC) and internal quality guidelines.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients to align technical solutions and contribute to process optimisation.

Required profile

• Higher education degree (HBO/WO) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in electrical design, preferably with battery storage projects.
• Strong command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory) and preferably Revit for electrical design.
• Knowledge of LV and MV electrical systems.
• Experience with cable sizing, short‑circuit and voltage‑drop calculations.
• Familiarity with NEN 1010 and IEC standards.
• Ability to prepare Bills of Materials and manage technical documentation.
