Head of Legal (Fintech)

About the role

Outpost is building a modular back‑office for global commerce, acting as Merchant of Record across 58+ tax jurisdictions. As Head of Legal you will shape the legal and regulatory foundation of this fast‑scaling fintech, reporting to the Head of Tax & Legal and working closely with the CEO.

Key responsibilities

• Own all commercial agreements, including MSAs, merchant contracts and partnership deals, drafting, negotiating and building scalable contract playbooks.
• Lead the company’s regulatory posture across EMI, PSD2 and related payments frameworks worldwide, advising on scheme rules and ensuring compliance.
• Design and continuously improve the AML and merchant onboarding programme, managing risk classification and monitoring processes.
• Drive legal aspects of fundraising, term sheets, board matters and corporate governance across multiple entities.

Required profile

• In‑house legal experience at a payments company or fintech (e.g., Adyen, Stripe, Revolut).
• Deep knowledge of EMI/PSD2, payments regulation and commercial contracts in B2B or enterprise contexts.
• Proven track record of building AML or compliance programmes and handling fundraising rounds.
