HV Substation Foreman

About the role

The HV Substation Foreman will coordinate, organise and supervise electromechanical works on high‑voltage substation construction projects, ensuring compliance with technical standards, deadlines and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact between site crews and project management.
• Participate in site meetings and technical discussions.
• Supervise and coordinate all electrical and electromechanical works, including installation, termination and routing of power, control and auxiliary cables.
• Plan daily and weekly activities of subcontractors and site personnel.
• Monitor physical progress against the project schedule and report deviations.
• Prepare periodic progress reports covering work status, incidents and technical issues.
• Coordinate interfaces between electromechanical works and other disciplines (civil, protection & control, testing & commissioning).
• Ensure correct interpretation and implementation of drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Verify quality of executed works and compliance with specifications and standards.
• Support testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Identify technical and construction risks or non‑conformities and propose corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, proper use of PPE, permits to work and LOTO procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising electromechanical and electrical work contracts on HV substation sites.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractor activities.
• Strong understanding of project schedules, quality control and HSE requirements.

Required skills

• HV substation electromechanical installation.
• Electrical and fiber‑optic cabling installation and termination.
• Interpretation of electrical schematics, drawings and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations, PPE usage, permits and LOTO safety procedures.
