Injection Moulding Expert

About the role

Wavin Orbia's Building & Infrastructure business is looking for an Injection Moulding Expert to join its Technology & Innovation team in the Netherlands. The role sits at the front line of developing sustainable, climate-proof solutions for cities and buildings, combining deep knowledge of polymer processing with an understanding of business needs. You will report to the Technology Manager of Wavin T&I.

Key responsibilities

• Provide plastics injection moulding expertise and scientific processing principles to support product innovation projects
• Support the full process from machine and mould specifications to part production at manufacturing locations
• Perform computer simulations and interpret results to improve product and mould designs
• Liaise with machine suppliers and mould makers to find new growth areas through advanced injection moulding techniques
• Follow trends in injection moulding and mould technologies and propose new projects or directions
• Lead injection moulding technology development projects, working independently and/or in teams

Required profile

• Bachelor or university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Polymer Engineering, with a focus on polymer processing
• Proven track record in injection moulding know-how and innovative plastic processing solutions
• At least 7 years of experience executing and managing injection moulding projects, including team and project management
• Willingness to travel internationally (about 10-20%)
• Fluent English, good German
