Junior Financial Client Accountant, Corporate

About the role

Hawksford is hiring a Junior Financial Client Accountant for its Corporate Services practice in Amsterdam. Working alongside an experienced team, you will gain practical experience in bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, annual accounts, VAT returns and audit support, with plenty of opportunity to learn and grow.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date bookkeeping records for client entities
• Process invoices, bank transactions and journal entries, and maintain general ledgers and supporting schedules
• Complete bank, balance-sheet and intercompany reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting, management information and annual accounts
• Help prepare VAT returns and other financial or tax filings
• Keep accounting files and audit trails complete and accurate, and protect client confidentiality
• Support client and adviser queries, audit requests and the wider team's work
• Follow company procedures, accounting standards and agreed deadlines, and escalate issues promptly

Required profile

• Professional qualification in accounting, finance or a related subject, or currently studying towards one
• Good written and spoken English
• Structured, organised approach, attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines
• Willingness to learn, ask questions and take feedback; confident working independently and in a team
• Advantageous: previous bookkeeping, accounting or financial administration experience, knowledge of Dutch accounting or tax requirements, and a good understanding of Dutch

Required skills

• Advantageous: experience with Exact Online or a similar accounting system
