Legal Counsel - Commercial Contracts & Data Protection

About the role

CM.com is looking for a Legal Counsel to join its international Legal team in Breda. You will act as a trusted business partner to commercial teams worldwide, helping enable growth while protecting the company's interests in a fast-paced, international and regulated environment. You will take ownership of a broad range of commercial and technology matters, advising on the legal framework of the company's SaaS, CPaaS, payments and AI products.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements (customer, supplier, technology, data-processing and partnership), and develop contract standards, playbooks and scalable legal processes
• Give pragmatic legal advice to Sales, Procurement, Product and other stakeholders on commercial, regulatory and data-protection matters
• Advise on privacy and data protection, including GDPR, for products, contracts and day-to-day operations
• Support tenders, strategic negotiations and cross-functional projects, working with management, international offices and specialist advisers
• Monitor digital, telecommunications, payments, data and AI regulation and turn it into practical business guidance
• Support the management and protection of intellectual property and trademark portfolios
• Use AI tools actively to improve your own work and share what works with the team

Required profile

• Completed Master's degree in Law and at least three years of relevant legal experience (in-house, at a law firm or in another commercial environment)
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in English, ideally in a technology, SaaS or regulated environment
• Fluent Dutch and English, spoken and written
• Permanent work and residence permit for the Netherlands (only considered candidates)

Required skills

• Sound, hands-on knowledge of privacy and data protection law, including GDPR
• Experience with telecommunications, payments, consumer or AI regulation is an advantage
• Business-minded approach, strong ownership and good judgement in a fast-moving international environment
