Manager Data Science – Corporate Markets, Life Sciences

About the role

We are seeking a Manager Data Science to lead a team within Elsevier’s Corporate Markets Life Sciences division. The role will guide data scientists in delivering advanced analytics and AI solutions for pharmaceutical, biotech and research customers across Amsterdam and London.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of data scientists, setting strategy and priorities aligned with corporate goals.
• Plan and allocate resources across multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of production‑ready models and pipelines.
• Foster a culture of scientific rigor, responsible AI and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the design and implementation of machine‑learning, statistical, NLP, neural‑network, search, recommendation, knowledge‑graph and generative‑AI solutions.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, content and domain experts to translate business problems into scalable data‑science products.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing data‑science teams in a commercial or research environment.
• Strong track record delivering end‑to‑end AI solutions that impact customers.
• Excellent communication skills to work with cross‑functional stakeholders.
