Optimization Manager

About the role

Adyen is looking for a strategic and analytical Optimization Manager to lead full‑funnel payment performance for its merchants in Amsterdam. The role combines data‑driven insight, risk and fraud expertise, and cross‑functional collaboration to boost merchant success at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with commercial teams and data analysts to translate payment data into actionable recommendations and drive merchant adoption of Adyen’s value proposition.
• Lead high‑level customer discussions, provide tools and training, and act as a subject‑matter expert on risk, fraud, conversion and cost efficiency.
• Analyze merchant portfolios, run optimization playbooks, and identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce risk.
• Collaborate with product teams to promote adoption of Adyen solutions such as Protect and Uplift.
• Build dashboards and scalable analytical solutions from large datasets to generate insights for high‑value customers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in risk & fraud, payments performance, data analytics or technical account roles within fintech or payments.
• Strong understanding of regional payments landscape, card network rules and regulatory considerations.
• Proven stakeholder management skills with an ownership mindset and ability to work independently.
• Comfortable in fast‑paced, global, cross‑functional environments and committed to continuous improvement.
• Excellent English communication skills, able to simplify complex topics for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker or Tableau.
• Advanced data analysis capabilities handling complex datasets.
