About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a highly talented Physicist to join its R&D team developing next‑generation scanning electron microscopy systems for the semiconductor industry.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and apply advanced simulations for electron‑beam, light‑matter, magnetic and electrostatic phenomena.
- Conduct experimental laboratory work in state‑of‑the‑art in‑house labs to translate novel ideas into working technology.
- Leverage a multidisciplinary R&D ecosystem and collaborate with leading technology companies worldwide.
- Drive creative thinking and novel approaches on a daily basis.
Required profile
- PhD in experimental or applied physics (post‑doc experience is a plus).
- Hands‑on experience in laboratory work and physics simulations.
Required skills
- High‑voltage physics research and applications.
- Voltage contrast in electron‑beam applications for semiconductors.
- Up‑to‑date semiconductor device physics (simulation, design, etc.).
- Development of charged‑particle and X‑ray detectors.
