Roving Project Manager

About the role

The Roving Project Manager is a senior leadership position within Hivos' Director's Office, responsible for delivering high‑priority, cross‑functional strategic initiatives on behalf of the CEO and Core Leadership Team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver CEO‑sponsored strategic projects, translating strategic decisions into actionable plans, milestones and governance structures.
• Coordinate organization‑wide initiatives across programs, business development, finance, people & culture and administration, managing dependencies, risks and stakeholder expectations.
• Drive organisational transformation, including digital transformation, operating model changes and implementation of the Ten for Ten strategy.
• Monitor progress, maintain project dashboards, track benefits realization and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Business Administration, Organisational Development, Project Management or related fields.
• 8‑10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years leading complex cross‑functional projects or transformation programmes.
• Proven experience working with senior leadership teams and executive stakeholders in international or mission‑driven organisations.

Required skills

• Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data to support strategic insights and monitoring frameworks.
• Strong capability in business case development, feasibility analysis and strategic justification of initiatives.
• Expertise in innovation methodologies, digital transformation tools and change‑management practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with leadership, cross‑functional teams and external partners.
