Security Officer (Individual Contractor)

About the role
The International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) seeks a dedicated Security Officer on an individual contractor basis to ensure the safety of personnel, property and visitors at its The Hague premises. You will work closely with the Security Operations Centre and provide continuous coverage of all access points.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and control access to restricted areas, preventing unauthorized entry.
- Support the Security Operations Centre and respond to security incidents following established procedures.
- Conduct regular inspections of offices, buildings and fire safety equipment, reporting any deficiencies.
- Patrol assigned zones, record observations and report safety or security violations.
- Verify that all staff and visitors wear valid UN identification and have proper documentation for any equipment removal.
- Secure offices, stores, meeting rooms and gates at all times.
- Assist the Chief of Security and Safety Section with additional duties as required.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of experience in civilian security or a related field.
- Ability to work the hours stipulated in the contract and maintain vigilance at all times.
