Senior Data Scientist – ML & LLM Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead the design and delivery of AI‑driven solutions that support researchers, reviewers, and editors throughout the publication journey. You will apply your expertise in generative AI, machine learning and natural language processing to create high‑impact, scalable capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end data science projects, from data collection and analysis to model development and deployment.
• Develop and refine classification, regression, clustering and deep‑learning models, including large language models.
• Design production‑ready Python libraries and pipelines, ensuring seamless integration with engineering teams.
• Implement quality‑assurance processes, monitor model drift, and automate model re‑training.
• Mentor junior data scientists and communicate insights to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of applied data‑science experience with a Master’s degree (or 5 years without a degree) in a quantitative field.
• Proven track record leading complex data‑science projects.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.

Required skills

• Python programming with best‑practice, production‑ready code.
• Machine‑learning frameworks such as Scikit‑learn, PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience with large language models, deep learning, NLP and advanced classification techniques.
• Solid understanding of model monitoring, drift detection and automated re‑training pipelines.
