Senior Imaging Engineer

About the role

Hudl helps teams worldwide capture video, analyse data and share highlights, and is hiring a Senior Imaging Engineer for its optics and imaging team. You will own key parts of image quality across multi-camera systems, so that cameras automatically capture high-performance footage used for computer vision, tracking and insights.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve camera systems by measuring, analysing and improving optics, sensors and image signal processing (ISP) performance across computer vision applications.
• Test and qualify lenses and camera modules against optical and environmental specifications, run qualification tests, work with external suppliers on technical follow-up and refine optical test methods for labs and production lines.
• Support ISP tuning of exposure, white balance, tone mapping and dynamic range, and contribute to camera control and 3A algorithms.
• Contribute to imaging requirements and trade-offs with product managers and the optics lead, own projects end-to-end and mentor fellow engineers.

Required profile

• Proven imaging experience, ideally on shipped hardware, with a strong understanding of optics, image sensors and ISP pipelines.
• Hands-on lab experience measuring image quality (MTF/SFR, noise, colour, distortion) with equipment such as collimators, test charts and climate chambers.
• A clear communicator who explains technical trade-offs to non-specialists and makes sound decisions with incomplete data.

Required skills

• Python for analysis and tooling, and C/C++ on embedded Linux.
• Nice to have: camera control algorithms, camera calibration, supplier collaboration and embedded camera platforms.
