Senior MES & Automation Engineer

About the role

QuantWare is seeking a highly skilled Senior MES & Automation Engineer to design, develop, configure, integrate, test, deploy and support MES and automation solutions for semiconductor manufacturing equipment and factory systems.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and manage MES master data structures, workflows, process flows and routing configurations.
• Develop and maintain SECS/GEM communication interfaces, templates and equipment automation validation.
• Integrate MES with equipment, databases, ERP, SCADA, PLC, Historian and other manufacturing IT systems.
• Manage technical deliverables, project timelines, risks, testing, deployment and documentation across multiple projects.
• Provide troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement for MES and automation systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of MES, automation or manufacturing systems engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on SECS/GEM development and equipment integration.
• Proven track record delivering MES or automation projects from design through production support.
• Experience working with multiple equipment types and automation platforms.

Required skills

• Strong experience with MES architecture, master data, flow creation, constraint and dispatch management.
• Hands‑on SECS‑I, HSMS and SECS/GEM development.
• Programming in C++, C#.NET, Java, Python, JavaScript.
• Database knowledge – Oracle/SQL and object‑oriented programming.
• API, web services and enterprise integration experience.
