Senior Software Architect – Azurion Eye

About the role

As a Senior Software Architect you will shape the AI‑driven software architecture for Philips’ Azurion Eye cath‑lab solution, defining and evolving the orchestrator and clinical operating functions across cloud, edge and system integrations. You will ensure low‑latency workflow automation, standards‑based interfacing and regulatory compliance in a global R&D environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional leaders (software, AI/data, systems, cybersecurity, verification, clinical and product) to drive architectural alignment and make trade‑offs explicit.
• Define and evolve reference architectures, interface contracts and integration patterns for cloud, edge and on‑prem components.
• Translate functional and non‑functional requirements (latency, scalability, security, observability) into practical implementation guardrails.
• Identify architectural risks early, shape mitigation strategies and contribute to regulated risk management.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, decision records and interface governance, raising documentation and implementation quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years designing complex, regulated software spanning edge/embedded and cloud services, preferably in medical devices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to negotiate constraints across sites and functions.
• Ability to balance feature delivery with technical debt and platform evolution.
