Team Lead Nuclear Decommissioning

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead to drive nuclear decommissioning and dismantling projects across the Netherlands and Belgium. The role combines technical expertise in nuclear facility dismantling with strong leadership and organisational capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement dismantling and decommissioning measures for nuclear facilities, including pipelines, ventilation and filter systems.
• Develop independent dismantling concepts and select appropriate decontamination and disassembly procedures.
• Conduct activity and dose assessments and manage clearance assessments for residual material classification and disposal planning.
• Build and lead high‑performing teams across multiple locations, ensuring seamless information flow between planning, execution, radiation protection, disposal and regulatory authorities.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resources using standard IT tools.
• Drive projects toward successful completion with strategic oversight.

Required profile

• Degree in energy technology, civil, mechanical engineering, physics or a comparable field.
• Experience in nuclear decommissioning and waste disposal with customer contact.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks such as the Atomic Energy Act, Radiation Protection Act and related regulations.
• Strong analytical skills, high initiative and an independent, structured way of working.
• Proficiency with common IT applications, especially MS Office.
• Flexibility to travel and a valid driver’s licence (preferred).
• Fluent English (spoken and written); French or Dutch is an advantage.
