Freelance Senior Information Security Officer

About the role

We are looking for a Freelance Senior Information Security Officer to reinforce and expand our security and compliance function within a fast‑moving financial services organisation. The role will support day‑to‑day security operations, drive regulatory initiatives and help embed security best‑practice across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Support the daily operation and continuous improvement of security and compliance frameworks.
• Contribute to regulatory initiatives, including DORA and SIRA compliance activities.
• Manage and respond to security assessments and requests from vendors, suppliers, and third parties.
• Assist with the implementation of operational security changes and ongoing enhancements.
• Provide security governance and risk management support during M&A integration activities.
• Play a key role in strengthening and scaling the broader information security function.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements within a controlled financial environment, including DNB compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Information Security, Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) or related security roles.
• Strong understanding of security compliance frameworks and regulatory standards.
• Solid technical foundation with a good grasp of security operations and controls.
• Proven experience managing third‑party risk, including working with vendors and suppliers.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills within regulated environments.
