R&D New Product Development Intern

About the role

Join JDE Peet’s research and development team at the international headquarters in Utrecht as a New Product Development Intern. You will conduct an independent research project focused on recipe development for black coffee and/or milk‑based coffee products, while supporting the team’s daily activities such as tastings, new recipe creation, and shelf‑life analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform experiments in the laboratory or pilot plant to optimise coffee recipes.
• Analyse experimental data, identify trends and propose innovative solutions.
• Document procedures and best practices by creating standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare and deliver presentations on project findings and final results.
• Assist with organising tastings, developing new recipes and conducting shelf‑life studies.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a master’s programme for the full internship period, preferably in Food Science, Chemistry or Food Technology.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Structured, analytical approach and eagerness to learn.
