Remote Contract Law Expert (Freelance)

About the role

Turing is seeking a Contract Law and Commercial Transactions specialist to help fine‑tune large language models. This fully remote freelance position involves evaluating AI‑generated answers to U.S. contract law scenarios and providing detailed feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated responses to contract law hypotheticals, including formation, breach, UCC Article 2 disputes, and damages.
• Apply a structured legal rubric to assess issue spotting, accuracy of common‑law and UCC principles, and proper contract interpretation.
• Identify gaps in AI reasoning around consideration, conditions precedent, anticipatory repudiation, liquidated damages, and third‑party beneficiary rights.
• Provide high‑quality annotations and written feedback to improve model performance.
• Collaborate with researchers and project managers to align evaluation standards and project goals.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active or inactive bar admission.
• Minimum 3 years of U.S. legal practice in contract law, commercial transactions, or commercial litigation.
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills in common‑law contracts and the UCC.
• Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• High ethical standards; interest in AI is a plus.
