Trading Systems Engineer (Event Driven Trading)

About the role

As a Trading Systems Engineer you will provide mission‑critical support for DRW’s core proprietary trading systems and adjust trading parameters throughout the day as needed. You will manage a wide variety of technical support and engineering functions, including application support in testing and production environments, software deployment, configuration and system monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Establish best‑in‑class support processes to ensure flawless operation of production trading technologies.
• Maintain maximum trading system availability to capture key trading opportunities.
• Provide support for trading production systems and develop proprietary automation and monitoring tools.
• Deploy and configure software across a multi‑platform environment (primarily Linux with some Windows).
• Troubleshoot production incidents caused by internal software or external factors such as market data feeds.
• Automate configuration and rollout procedures to reduce manual errors and improve change management.
• Support core market connectivity and liaise with exchanges on trade order activity and technical issues.
• Collaborate with DBAs, development teams, back‑office systems, QA engineers, infrastructure and management during releases and issue resolution.

Required profile

• Experience supporting high‑performance applications, process monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Previous trading systems support experience preferred.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (multicast, TCP, routing).
• Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).
• Experience working in Linux environments.
• Flexibility to work varied hours as trading activity dictates.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
