Associate – Corporate Banking (Netherlands)

About the role

Santander Corporate & Investment Banking is seeking an Associate to join its Netherlands team in Amsterdam. The role supports senior bankers and vice‑presidents in managing relationships with large corporate clients across the Benelux region.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior bankers and VPs in relationship management with large corporate clients headquartered in the Benelux.
• Support origination and execution of transactions such as syndicated loans, debt capital markets, structured finance, trade & working‑capital solutions, export finance, cash management, and global markets products (rates, FX).
• Prepare and present credit risk analyses to credit committees.
• Conduct financial and strategic business analysis on sectors, competitors and clients.
• Develop client presentations, business plans and monitor profitability and revenue targets.
• Participate in client pitches, credit documentation, risk and business committee processes.
• Oversee junior team members on KYC and compliance requirements.
• Train and mentor analysts, graduates and interns.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and financial modelling abilities.
• Experience or strong interest in corporate banking and transaction execution.
• Ability to work closely with senior bankers and manage client relationships.
• Proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor junior staff.
