Business Controller Internship

About the role

The Business Controller Internship at Santander Consumer Finance focuses on supporting the profitability and financial analysis of the company’s operations in the Netherlands. You will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate month‑end processes and provide internal and corporate reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monthly closing, planning, forecasting and profitability analysis.
• Prepare and deliver timely month‑end reports for management and headquarters.
• Support the budgeting process, rolling forecasts and reporting to senior management.
• Collaborate with the accounting department to guarantee solid month‑end closing.
• Produce analytical accounting and profitability reports for the Netherlands, Benelux and consolidated level.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of internal and corporate reporting.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, processes and tools.
• Participate in company projects as required.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in Economics or a related field.
• Result‑oriented, accurate and able to work independently as well as in project teams.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Good communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of SQL (advantageous).
• Familiarity with PowerBI (advantageous).
