Certification & Compliance Engineer – Electrical Safety, RF & Environmental

About the role

Join Robin’s radar team to lead certification and compliance activities for cutting‑edge bird and drone detection radars. You will manage ongoing US and military certifications, plan future compliance work, and ensure smooth product development through pre‑compliance testing and external lab coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and tailor compliance requirements during concept phases, including regulatory laws and mission‑specific test profiles.
• Serve as the primary liaison with accredited test laboratories, FCC, notified bodies, and specialised consultants.
• Define certification pathways for global market access and oversee (re)certification test execution.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product certificates as regulations and products evolve.
• Develop and update technical documentation, test plans and safety assessments for standards such as STANAG, CE, FCC and NRTL.
• Grow internal pre‑compliance testing capabilities to reduce risk before external testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related technical field.
• Proven experience managing projects and relationships with external test houses, NRTLs or regulators.
• Strong communication skills in English, able to translate complex norms into actionable engineering advice.
• Familiarity with North‑American electrical safety standards, FCC regulations or equivalent.

Required skills

• Electrical safety testing and NRTL/UL approval processes.
• RF testing, spectrum allocation knowledge and ETSI/FCC standards.
• Environmental testing (shock, vibration, temperature, humidity).
• Experience with MIL‑STD 810, MIL‑STD 461 and STANAG requirements.
• Test‑plan development and pre‑compliance test execution.
