Director, Specialist Sales – Netherlands SME

About the role

The Director, Specialist Sales – Netherlands SME is responsible for driving commercial success and market penetration of Mastercard’s SME products, solutions and services in the Dutch market. You will act as the bridge between account managers, business development teams, product managers and channel partners to deliver growth.

Key responsibilities

• Drive sales and revenue growth of SME offerings in the Netherlands, meeting GDV and revenue targets.
• Support Account Managers and Business Development teams with specialist SME expertise, helping identify opportunities, build business cases and move prospects through the pipeline.
• Act as the primary link for channel distribution deals, collaborating with partners and internal teams to create scalable distribution opportunities.
• Adapt and localise solutions and go‑to‑market approaches for the Dutch market, ensuring alignment with customer needs, regulatory requirements and partner priorities.
• Proactively analyse market trends, customer needs and competitive dynamics to generate actionable SME sales initiatives.
• Engage with customers to understand their challenges and position Mastercard’s SME portfolio as a solution.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of the Dutch payments market and SME customer needs.
• Proven experience in SME sales and channel distribution.
• Ability to work closely with account managers, business development teams and product managers.
• Analytical mindset to identify growth opportunities from market data.
