Head of Forward Deployed Engineering - Operations

About the role

Adyen is looking for a senior leader to shape an AI‑native, highly leveraged operations model. The Head of Forward Deployed Engineering – Operations will define the vision, identify high‑impact use cases and build the structure that turns domain‑owned ideas into scalable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Set the AI and innovation direction for Operations, focusing on customer experience, productivity, quality and scalability.
• Partner with domain leads to prioritize use cases based on business value, feasibility and readiness.
• Lead the central Ops innovation model, establishing ways of working, governance and foundations for domain‑led re‑engineering.
• Manage a small team of Forward Deployed AI specialists to translate concepts into production‑grade solutions.
• Represent Operations in central engineering, ensuring Ops priorities are clearly communicated and supported.

Required profile

• Proven track record of leading transformation in an operations or service environment, including scaling AI, automation or digital workflow improvements.
• Strong operational judgement with the ability to redesign real‑world workflows and drive outcomes beyond pilot projects.
• Deep curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, combined with the ability to separate substance from hype.
• Executive presence and the capability to influence senior stakeholders across engineering, data, product and enablement teams.

Required skills

• Understanding of AI concepts, automation and architectural trade‑offs.
• Experience working closely with engineering and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions.
