Software Engineer II

About the role

Flexport’s Customs Technology team is building modern, AI‑enabled systems that help global brands navigate complex customs regulations. As a Software Engineer II you will contribute to high‑performance services that automate and simplify customs brokerage.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and business partners to translate complex logistics problems into clean, maintainable code.
• Design, develop, and ship Kotlin micro‑services on Kubernetes, integrating with government agencies and partner systems.
• Automate legacy customs filing processes, reducing manual phone calls and improving operational efficiency.
• Deliver analytics and insights to logistics teams through robust data pipelines.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong focus on writing simple, well‑tested, and extensible code.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bias for action and quick learning aptitude.
