Lead Automation Engineer

About the role

QuantWare is building a next‑generation 200 mm quantum device fab and needs a Lead Automation Engineer to define and run the factory automation and manufacturing systems function. You will shape how equipment, metrology, test platforms and software integrate to enable efficient, traceable, data‑driven production.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the fab automation roadmap and overall equipment connectivity architecture.
• Lead integration of process, metrology and test equipment, establishing SECS/GEM and vendor‑specific communication standards.
• Support selection, implementation and operation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), including lot tracking, genealogy and recipe management.
• Define requirements for manufacturing data collection, storage and analytics, and enable visibility into yield, throughput and equipment utilization.
• Build and lead the fab automation team, recruit engineers and manage relationships with software suppliers and equipment vendors.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc/PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation or related field.
• 7+ years experience in semiconductor manufacturing automation, equipment integration or manufacturing systems.
• Hands‑on experience with SECS/GEM communication standards and MES platforms.
• Proven ability to manage technical projects with multiple stakeholders and vendors.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience building small technical teams.
