Postdoc Photoacoustic Nanoscale Imaging

About the role

The position focuses on advancing photoacoustic imaging at the nanoscale using ultrafast laser‑induced ultrasound. You will work within the Faculty of Applied Sciences to develop technology that can visualize 3‑D nanostructures in opaque materials.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve photoacoustic imaging technology based on ultrafast laser‑induced ultrasound.
• Lead the operation and further development of the modulated asynchronous optical sampling system.
• Demonstrate novel applications in biological imaging and semiconductor metrology.
• Collaborate with PhD and undergraduate students to advance project objectives.

Required profile

• PhD in physics, optics, photonics, electrical engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Experience with ultrafast lasers.
• Knowledge of electronic synchronization systems.
• Background in photoacoustics and optical detection.
• Proficiency in high‑frequency acoustic imaging techniques.
