Postdoctoral Researcher – Solvothermal Recycling of Cardiac Catheters

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the EvalueWaste consortium at TU Delft. The project focuses on developing a scalable solvothermal process to recover valuable metals and polymers from single‑use cardiac electro‑surgical catheters, contributing to circularity in the healthcare sector.

Key responsibilities

• Scale‑up the solvothermal recycling process for cardiac catheters.
• Publish high‑quality articles in peer‑reviewed journals and prepare project reports.
• Participate in consortium meetings, workshops, and stakeholder events.
• Support supervision of students and contribute to departmental academic activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong background in advanced chemical engineering research and hands‑on experimental work.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
