Business Development Representative

About the role

Cognite is looking for an Account Development Representative to drive pipeline growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying leads in the industrial AI space. You will be the first touchpoint for prospects, shaping the sales cycle and helping customers in manufacturing and energy sectors discover the value of Cognite’s solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead outbound prospecting by identifying and qualifying key decision‑makers through personalized email, phone, and social outreach.
• Follow up promptly on inbound marketing leads, qualify opportunities, and hand high‑quality prospects to the sales team.
• Run qualification meetings to understand prospect needs and determine fit.
• Collaborate with strategic account executives to build stakeholder maps and uncover use‑case opportunities.
• Partner with internal teams across the company to enhance collaboration and achieve shared goals.
• Research target accounts, develop outreach strategies, and maintain detailed CRM records.
• Support marketing campaigns with initial outreach and post‑campaign follow‑ups.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of sales development experience in technology or industrial sectors.
• Proficiency with sales tools such as ZoomInfo, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, Outreach, and 6Sense.
• Fluent English; additional language (German, French, Spanish, Italian) is a plus.
• Experience or interest in the energy or manufacturing industry.
• Strong communication, organizational, and self‑direction skills.
• Willingness to travel across the US and Europe.
