Director, Innovation Consulting (Food)

About the role

As Director of Innovation Consulting (Food) at oneUp, you will shape the future of food innovation by creating and executing data‑driven strategies for clients in ingredients, animal nutrition and consumer packaged goods. You will lead cross‑functional teams to turn market insights into viable business propositions using Lean Startup and design‑thinking methods.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive innovation strategies based on market trends, competitive landscapes and emerging technologies.
• Conduct desk and quantitative research, portfolio analysis, and market intelligence to identify new opportunities.
• Create business cases, financial models and P&L analyses to evaluate strategic fit.
• Prioritise and size innovation projects, design governance structures and KPI frameworks.
• Lead energetic kick‑offs, customer discovery sessions and cross‑functional solution workshops.
• Map assumptions, define success metrics and design experiments to validate concepts.
• Provide strategic recommendations and act as an entrepreneur‑in‑residence for stakeholders.

Required profile

• Passion for the food industry with strong experience in food innovation.
• Data‑driven, experiment‑focused mindset where the customer perspective guides decisions.
• Based in Amsterdam with the legal right to work in the Netherlands.
• Strategic visionary able to translate complex insights into actionable plans.
