Engineering Manager - Back Office & Integration

About the role

A company developing a fast-growing travel management platform for the maritime, aviation and energy sectors is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead its Back Office & Integration squad. The role combines about 60% people management and delivery with 40% hands-on technical work, including complex architectural tasks and code reviews. It is not a Tech Lead or Senior Software Engineer position.

Key responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of 4 to 8 intermediate to senior engineers (7+ years of experience)
• Hold regular 1-on-1s, lead performance reviews and foster career development
• Take part in hiring, team expansion and offboarding decisions
• Own the team's delivery and culture, supporting them through challenges and mistakes
• Solve complex engineering problems, lead code reviews and drive architecture decisions with modern .NET technologies

Required profile

• Active direct-line management experience in the last 3 years (mentoring, code reviews or acting as Tech Lead without people management do not count)
• Experience managing mid-to-senior engineers with 7+ years of domain experience
• Ability to work remotely initially, with a mandatory agreement to relocate to the Netherlands after 4 to 6 months; visa sponsorship and relocation support are provided
• Willingness to start on a fixed-term contract during the initial trial period
• AI use must go beyond a simple search engine or shortcut during the technical selection

Required skills

• C#.NET and PostgreSQL within the last 5 years
• SQL

What we offer

• Salary of EUR 7,000 to 8,000 gross per month (remote budget EUR 5,500 to 6,000)
