Head of Finance

About the role

Ore Energy is scaling its utility‑scale iron‑air battery gigafactory and needs a senior finance leader to shape and execute its capital strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO and working with the Board, you will own the financing roadmap, from equity raises to debt and project finance, and translate the company’s commercial and engineering plans into bankable investment cases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated capital strategy covering equity, corporate and project debt, public funding, guarantees and grants.
• Lead equity fundraising rounds, from investor positioning to deal negotiation and closing.
• Structure and close corporate, gigafactory and project‑level financing.
• Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, banks, export credit agencies, DFIs and infrastructure capital providers.
• Own and defend the corporate financial model and investment cases before the Board and external counterparties.
• Translate engineering, manufacturing and deployment plans into scalable, bankable financing structures.
• Select and manage external financial, legal and tax advisors while retaining internal ownership of deal processes.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, leadership team and Board and establish finance capabilities, controls and reporting systems.

Required profile

• 10+ years of strategic or corporate finance experience in energy, infrastructure, industrial manufacturing or climate‑tech.
• Proven track record of raising equity and closing complex corporate debt, gigafactory or project finance transactions.
• Advanced financial modeling ability with experience building, stress‑testing and defending investment cases.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with investors, lenders and senior executives.
