Instrument Mechanician – 2-year contract in Netherlands

About the role

We are seeking an Instrument Mechanician to join a 2‑year fixed‑term project in the Netherlands. The role involves maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing a range of field instrumentation used in process plants.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, fault‑finding and repairs on valves, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, pressure gauges and field communicators.
• Support PLC‑based control systems by diagnosing and fixing faults where required.
• Ensure all work complies with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to implement corrective actions and improvements.

Required profile

• Completed trade test as an Instrumentation technician or electrician (Matric level).
• Under 28 years of age to meet visa requirements.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and willing to learn Dutch (reading and speaking).
• Clean record, sober habits and a valid passport (or in process).

Required skills

• Instrument maintenance and repair.
• Fault‑finding on pressure and temperature transmitters, gauges and field communicators.
• PLC troubleshooting (advantageous).
