Instrumentation Technician

About the role

Join a critical utilities plant where accurate measurement and control keep operations safe and reliable. As an Instrumentation Technician you will maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems, ensuring continuous production and plant stability.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation faults.
• Work with Honeywell and Siemens PLC systems.
• Calibrate instruments and conduct measurements (gas, oxygen, thermocouples).
• Carry out seal testing, valve isolation, and install temporary bypasses.
• Identify technical issues for follow‑up and supervise on‑site contractors.
• Ensure safe work execution (Permit to Work, LMRA, ATEX) and report activities in SAP.

Required profile

• Red Seal certification in Electrical or Instrumentation (or equivalent).
• Several years of experience in an E&I maintenance environment.
• Experience with Honeywell systems, Siemens PLCs, and ATEX‑rated installations.
• Strong knowledge of measurement, calibration, gas detection and oxygen monitoring.
• Ability to work on‑call shifts and supervise contractors.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans.

• Salary €4,357 – €5,000 gross per month, based on experience.
