Junior IP Counsel – Trademarks, Copyright & Designs

About the role

Philips Intellectual Property & Standards is seeking an early‑career IP professional to support its global portfolio of trademarks, designs, copyright and brand protection. You will work closely with marketing, design and legal teams to safeguard Philips’ iconic consumer brands and innovative products worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support the global trademark and design rights portfolio, including filing, prosecution and enforcement.
• Advise business and marketing teams on branding, product naming, advertising, packaging and related IP risks.
• Support brand protection activities such as domain enforcement, online monitoring and marketplace takedowns.
• Draft, review and negotiate trademark, copyright, design, licensing and settlement agreements.
• Coordinate with external counsel and IP offices across multiple jurisdictions.
• Monitor legal developments in trademark, copyright and design and provide practical guidance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law (LL.M.) or equivalent legal qualification.
• 1–5 years of experience in intellectual property law, preferably in private practice or in‑house.
• Qualified trademark and/or design attorney or working towards qualification.
• Fluency in English (minimum C1) and strong stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with trademark and design portfolio management, prosecution and enforcement.
• Good understanding of EU and US IP laws relating to trademarks, designs and copyright.
• Ability to provide practical, business‑oriented IP advice and deliver training on brand protection.

What we offer

• Base salary range €61,200 – €101,900 per year, plus 3% short‑term incentive.
