Learning Experience Design Intern (R&D Coffee Academy)

About the role

JDE Peet's is looking for a Learning Experience Design intern within its R&D Coffee Academy team at its international headquarters in Utrecht, starting in March 2027. The R&D Coffee Academy strengthens technical knowledge, collaboration and expertise across the global R&D community through expert modules on coffee processing, quality, safety, packaging, consumer science and sustainability. The intern translates expert knowledge into engaging, structured and digital learning modules.

Key responsibilities

• Work with senior topic owners and subject matter experts to understand learning objectives, content and target audiences.
• Agree on the learning experience format (online, blended or in-person) and use videos, self-paced modules, workshops or assignments.
• Convert existing materials (presentations, expert input, past training content) into updated digital modules using tools such as Easy Generator, PowerPoint, Canva and M365 Copilot.
• Define the skills and competencies each module develops (technical understanding, problem-solving, scientific thinking, cross-functional collaboration).
• Create a competence/skills framework per module usable across R&D.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a full-time MSc programme for the whole internship, with the possibility to link the thesis to it.
• Interest in learning design, knowledge transfer and capability building.
• Experience creating a portfolio of learning modules, frameworks and learning journeys.
• Hands-on experience with modern digital learning platforms and AI-supported tools.
• Structured, driven and energetic, with good communication skills and the ability to work in teams and independently.
• Willingness to commit at least 5 months, preferably March to August 2027, 5 days a week (four days in office, one day remote).
• The internship must be part of the study curriculum, and the university must agree to a collaboration agreement and an NDA.
• EU/EEA or non-EU student residing in the Netherlands during the internship.

What we offer

• Monthly internship allowance of EUR 525 (full-time).
• Travel compensation if you do not have a free public transport card.
