Product Innovation & AI Prototyping Internship

About the role

Do you enjoy turning early ideas into products, prototypes and experiences that people can see, understand and test? Within Philips Avent Experience Innovation we explore new product and experience directions that can make a meaningful difference for parents and babies, where consumer needs, design and technology come together.

Key responsibilities

• Explore new product and experience opportunities for parents and babies.
• Turn insights and ideas into product concepts, prototypes, mock‑ups and visualisations.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to assess feasibility, mechanisms, materials and user experience.
• Use sketching, CAD, physical prototyping and digital tools to make ideas tangible.
• Create clear presentations and stories that support innovation decisions.
• Apply AI‑supported tools to generate concept visualisations, animations or short videos.

Required profile

• Studying Industrial Design, Integrated Product Design, Mechanical Engineering with a design focus, Design Engineering or a comparable programme.
• Interest in how products are experienced and how they work.
• Enjoy open‑ended challenges and moving between thinking and making.
• Curious, proactive and able to communicate ideas clearly.
• Experience with relevant tools such as sketching, CAD, prototyping, rendering, Adobe tools, Figma, video/animation tools or AI‑supported creative tools.
• Portfolio or examples that demonstrate curiosity and problem‑solving.

What we offer

• Monthly allowance of €500‑€700 gross (pro‑rated for part‑time).
• Housing compensation of €300 net (Amsterdam) or €255 net (other Philips locations) when relocation is required.
• Travel allowance up to €192 net per month.
