Risk Officer – Market & Credit Risk Monitoring

About the role

Ready to start your career in risk management within a fast‑growing environmental commodities business? As a Risk Officer at AFS Energy you will support the monitoring of market and credit risks and help strengthen the firm’s risk function, working from the historic trading floor of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily monitoring of market, credit and operational risks across renewable commodities trading desks.
• Assist the Front Office with trade approvals, counter‑party credit checks and hedging FX exposure.
• Maintain and improve risk tools and reports, acting as a point of contact with the development team.
• Contribute to building risk awareness across departments and support risk‑versus‑reward decision‑making.
• Participate in projects that enhance business insights and reporting accuracy.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Econometrics, Mathematics or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in risk, finance, financial markets or energy trading.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Analytical, proactive, hands‑on mindset with a strong ethical orientation.
