Risk Specialist – Risk Management & Fraud Detection

About the role

As a Risk Specialist at Fastned you will strengthen the risk and control framework while enabling responsible, fast growth. You will work across operations, construction, product & engineering, finance, legal and compliance to protect revenue and embed a risk‑aware culture.

Key responsibilities

• Define, maintain and drive Fastned’s risk management framework, including policies, control measures and risk appetite.
• Lead fraud detection and investigation, develop detection rules, manage alerts and investigate incidents involving customers, employees and third parties.
• Translate risk exposure into measurable indicators, develop KRIs and dashboards, and monitor alerts to identify emerging risks.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, embedding risk considerations in decision‑making across the organisation.
• Guide and coach risk champions, strengthening first‑line risk capability and building lasting risk ownership.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in risk management, internal control or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of risk concepts and control frameworks, with practical experience applying them.
• Experience building or shaping risk practices in a fast‑growing or listed environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English (Dutch a plus).
• Proactive, pragmatic and result‑driven attitude with high integrity and confidentiality.
