Senior Fraud Risk Management Expert

About the role

Adyen is looking for a Senior Fraud Risk Management Expert to join its Financial Crime Compliance Department in Amsterdam. You will design and oversee fraud control frameworks, conduct deep‑dive risk assessments and ensure the effectiveness of fraud controls across the company’s global products.

Key responsibilities

• Guide the design and build of end‑to‑end Fraud Control Frameworks, defining baseline controls for specific client segments and products.
• Perform deep‑dive fraud risk assessments on issuing fraud, account takeover, first‑party fraud, application fraud, new product launches and payment channel exposures.
• Assess, validate and monitor the effectiveness of existing fraud controls, supporting first and second line teams to optimise detection and reduce false positives.
• Drive continuous improvement of the fraud compliance framework, identifying gaps, optimising controls and coordinating cross‑functional initiatives.
• Mature the External Fraud Governance Framework and policies, ensuring alignment with industry standards such as SIRA.
• Partner with operations, product, risk and regulatory teams to co‑create pragmatic fraud mitigations and support regulatory inquiries.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in fraud risk, with a proven track record designing controls and conducting comprehensive assessments.
• Strong background in financial services, particularly payments acquiring/issuing ecosystems and scheme rules.
• Curious about emerging fraud trends, regulations and threat vectors, and able to apply them to a fast‑scaled platform.
• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex fraud topics simply and collaborating across teams.
• Problem‑solver who can analyse data, address control gaps and drive pragmatic solutions while managing multiple projects.
