Senior Software Engineer (Java) – Unified Platform

About the role

Adyen is a leading payments and financial technology platform serving global brands such as Facebook, Uber, H&M and Microsoft. The Unified Platform team builds the core infrastructure that combines accounting, reporting, billing, pricing, reconciliation and configuration into a single, scalable experience. As a Senior Software Engineer you will help shape this platform and deliver high‑impact features for merchants worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test and launch complex technical projects from requirements through production.
• Contribute hands‑on code and improve platform robustness and scalability.
• Define and apply best engineering practices and quality standards for APIs and tooling.
• Build high‑performance REST APIs and related services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across time zones to deliver features quickly.

Required profile

• Experience with large‑scale distributed systems.
• Strong background in Java, Web Services, REST APIs, Webhooks and SQL/PostgreSQL.
• Solid understanding of software engineering practices and product development.
• Enjoys working in cross‑functional teams with data science, frontend and product partners.
• Experimental mindset with a “launch fast and iterate” approach.
