Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

About the role

TOPIC is looking for a driven Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to write production‑quality code that automates testing of complex embedded systems. You will work at the intersection of development and quality engineering, shaping how software is built and verified.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain test frameworks and automation tooling using C++ and/or Python.
• Contribute to production code, improve testability, and collaborate with software engineers on high‑tech embedded and distributed systems.
• Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure for fast, reliable feedback.
• Analyse complex failures, trace root causes, and drive quality‑by‑design principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a high‑tech environment.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python and/or C# with solid OO principles.
• Hands‑on experience with test automation and familiarity with methodologies such as TDD, BDD, keyword‑driven, data‑driven, model‑based and property‑based testing.
