Solution Developer Internship

About the role

This internship gives you the chance to work on applied AI projects that have real business impact within Damen Shipyards Group. You will join the AI team in Gorinchem and help translate business challenges into functional AI prototypes.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders across divisions to identify and scope AI use cases.
• Rapidly prototype automation agents, workflows, and low‑code solutions based on business requirements.
• Develop and iterate on Copilot agents, Power Automate flows, and tools using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and Azure.
• Use development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and OpenAI Codex to accelerate prototype development.
• Document use cases, technical designs, and prototype outcomes in a structured way.
• Present prototypes and findings to business stakeholders and the team.
• Support handover of validated prototypes to technical teams for production deployment.
• Benchmark Damen’s low‑code AI approach against industry best practices and emerging tools.

Required profile

• Master’s or advanced Bachelor student in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Information Management or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience or strong interest in low‑code development platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform or Copilot Studio.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted development tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or OpenAI Codex.
• Ability to write basic scripts or automation logic in Python or JavaScript.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate ambiguous business problems into structured technical solutions.
• Fluent in English.
