Associate Network Architect – Automation & Linux Infrastructure

About the role

Gapstars is seeking an Associate Network Architect to design, automate, and operate multi‑vendor data‑center networks. You will work on modern fabric architectures such as VXLAN/EVPN, build automation to eliminate manual configuration, and ensure high‑availability of production environments. The role bridges networking and systems, requiring comfort with both device CLIs and Linux shells.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to end‑to‑end network architecture initiatives across multi‑vendor data centers.
• Design, operate, and evolve VXLAN/EVPN‑based fabrics, including HA and DR setups.
• Develop and maintain Ansible automation for network devices and Linux systems, integrated with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Linux host networking (bonding/LACP, VLANs, bridges, jumbo frames, routing, firewall rules).
• Support network aspects of storage and cloud platforms (e.g., Ceph, virtualization VLAN/VXLAN integration).
• Monitor infrastructure, respond to incidents, and resolve high‑priority production issues.
• Perform lifecycle management: software upgrades, hardware refreshes, OS patching, and decommissioning.
• Standardize device and host configurations, document baselines, and maintain firewall policies.
• Maintain core services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and IP address management.

Required profile

• Strong interest in both networking and Linux systems, comfortable using shell and device CLI.
• Experience with data‑center fabric technologies (VXLAN, EVPN) and multi‑vendor environments.
• Ability to design reliable, scalable solutions and troubleshoot complex issues.
