Circular Packaging Advocacy Manager

About the role

Kraft Heinz is looking for an experienced Government Affairs or Public Policy professional to drive its advocacy on circular packaging across Europe and the UK. The role works closely with the Regulatory team and partners with R&D, Sustainability and business teams to turn policy developments into practical, commercially viable approaches.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run the European and UK advocacy strategy on circular packaging, identify policy risks and opportunities, and engage policymakers, regulators and industry associations
• Lead Government Affairs on the implementation of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), including monitoring implementing and delegated legislation and coordinating engagement with EU institutions and Member States
• Advocate on national packaging levies and EPR frameworks, including eco-modulation criteria, and assess their financial and operational implications
• Act as the Government Affairs partner to R&D and Regulatory, bringing packaging science and feasibility into policy discussions
• Keep senior leadership informed through regular updates, executive briefings and horizon scanning of emerging legislation

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Government Affairs, Public Policy, Regulatory Affairs or a related field
• Strong knowledge of European policymaking and national regulatory environments
• Experience engaging with EU institutions and national governments
• Ability to turn complex technical and regulatory issues into compelling policy arguments
• Ability to work across multiple European markets; European languages beyond English are a plus
• Experience in the food, FMCG, packaging, recycling or consumer goods sectors is an advantage

• Expertise with packaging, circular economy, sustainability, EPR and waste policy
• Strategic judgement and cross-functional collaboration with technical, regulatory, R&D and commercial teams
