Data Governance & Quality Lead

About the role

The Data Governance & Quality Lead at Damen Naval will shape and enforce data policies, standards and processes across the full data lifecycle. This pivotal position ensures data accuracy, consistency, security and usability, enabling reliable analytics for next‑generation ship design and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain data ownership, quality rules, risk profiles and security in line with governance frameworks.
• Partner with engineers, project managers and supply‑chain stakeholders to capture data needs, provide definitions and documentation.
• Monitor data metrics, support stewards in validation and cleansing, and address errors to keep data accurate, complete and timely.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, identify and mitigate data‑related risks such as breaches or misuse.
• Deliver training and support to end‑users on data quality issue resolution and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of program or project management experience in data governance, data quality or large‑scale data transformation.
