Head Barista

About the role

The Hoxton, Amsterdam is looking for a Head Barista for its restaurant and bar, Lotti's, located on the Herengracht canal. The restaurant serves an internationally inspired brasserie-style menu with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the bar hosts local DJs on Fridays to Sundays. The Head Barista leads the morning coffee and breakfast team and ensures quality, consistency and a welcoming atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the morning coffee and breakfast team and create a warm, energising atmosphere
• Craft Origin coffees, fresh juices and other morning beverages to a consistent standard
• Oversee morning barista setup, service and closing procedures, and assist the floor and bar teams during peak periods
• Conduct daily briefings, assign stations, coach baristas on coffee techniques, presentation, upselling and guest engagement, and support recruitment and onboarding
• Check inventory at the start and end of shifts, monitor stock rotation and par levels, and handle cash in line with hotel policy
• Complete shift reports, financial records and other barista documentation, and monitor KPIs such as sales, wastage and product ratios
• Maintain hygiene, health and safety standards in barista and prep areas, and uphold The Hoxton Way in every guest interaction

Required profile

• At least two years of experience working with specialty coffee
• Passion for hospitality and for designing and delivering excellent coffee
• Positive attitude, teamwork spirit and willingness to try new things
