Junior Controller

About the role

We are looking for a sharp and ambitious Junior Controller to join our Finance team in Rotterdam. You will turn financial data into clear business insights for founders and department heads while ensuring finance operations run accurately and on time.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly management reporting, keep forecasts current and provide reliable financial insights.
• Handle around 16,000 customer invoices and supplier bills annually across multiple systems (Exact Online, Quickbooks, Odoo) and entities.
• Maintain KPIs, explain movements, and prepare the monthly reporting pack by the 10th of each month.
• Build and update P&L and cash‑flow forecasts, model scenarios for investments, market entry, or pricing changes.
• Provide founders and department heads with clear answers to financial questions.
• Manage local finance matters in Rotterdam, including bank contacts, Chamber of Commerce, and Dutch tax authorities.
• Assist with quarterly VAT returns (NL, UK, OSS) and intra‑EU statistics.
• Process bank statements, match payments in Exact Online and Odoo, and ensure no backlog at month‑end.
• Improve and automate repetitive finance processes and perform key financial controls.

Required profile

• Quick learner with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in English with 1–3 years relevant finance experience and a degree in Finance, Business Economics, Accountancy or related field.

Required skills

• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Experience with Exact Online or Odoo (plus).
